Food is in Jesse’s blood. With a family legacy that includes generations of grocers and a successful pizza chain back East, his connection to food runs deep. Though he prefers to leave the cooking to the professionals, Jesse is no stranger to the kitchen—and he’s most in his element grilling over a campfire, toes in the sand, with a cold beer in hand. After nearly 20 years working on Commercial Drive, he’s developed a true love for the neighbourhood’s cultural richness and diverse food scene. That influence, along with his travels and appreciation for fresh, local ingredients, is reflected in the menus he develops—balancing international flair with classic favourites made from scratch. Jesse takes particular pride in perfecting one dish above all: the burger. It’s his favourite meal, a personal obsession, and a food group he takes very seriously.
